What NYFA’s Artist Advisory Committee is Up to This Fall
NYFA’s Artist Advisory Committee provides vital field insights that help NYFA stay informed about the issues affecting artists and their communities. Committee members also convene annually to review and approve the proposed selection of NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellows.
The committee is composed entirely of working artists, and this summer and fall, we’re excited to celebrate several committee members in their upcoming shows and events throughout New York State and beyond.
Here’s what’s coming up:
Crystal Z Campbell opens their solo exhibition After Touch: Mimosa Pudica at Rivalry Projects in Buffalo, NY, from September 18 through October 30. The exhibition expands Campbell’s ongoing exploration of overlooked histories through a new body of collages inspired by the touch-sensitive mimosa pudica plant. Drawing from herbarium collections, archival materials, ceramics, painting, and mixed media, the work examines colonial histories, migration, and ecological memory.
